Gravity Investigation

Weight is the force of Gravity. It acts in a downward direction towards the centre of the Earth. Every object in the world has this pulling force of gravity; the bigger the object, the greater the force. Earth is so big and heavy that its force of gravity is very great. The nearer things are to each other the greater the force of gravity between them.

Aim: 

To observe the effect of gravity on objects of different mass 

Method: 

What do you need? 

• 3x cubes of different wood 
• 1x metal sinker 

What you should do? 

1. Make a prediction on the order they will hit the ground 
2. Hold all objects at the same height 
3. On the count of three drop all objects at the same time 
4. Observe the order that they hit the ground 
5. Repeat at least three times to ensure the test is fair 
6. Record your observations
