Maori
culture celebrates Matariki by having feasts, singing songs to the people they
have loved, and doing arts and craft.
During Matariki, Maori families create a bonfire to make their food for feasts like kumara, fried bread, mussels, hangi and fish.

People Celebrate
Matariki with other families by doing weaving, crafting and greeting other
people in other families.
After the families finish having feasts, they might do beautiful dances and haka then have karakia before they end the Matariki celebration.

Nice story Joshua and I like how you finished you story. You know I always look in the sky and see the big dipper. Which is your favourite star
ReplyDeleteI love it when whanau come together to sing waiata and share kai. Matariki is one of the many celebrations where this happens. When does your family come together to celebrate Joshua?
