Toi Matariki Workshop
On Thursday 29th June Room 2 went with Rom 21 to Vodafone Events Centre in Manukau to take part in the Toi Matariki Workshop. Our students were able to try out different traditional crafts and learn the tikanga behind the crafting. My group we exploring different art forms including drawing mangopare and kowhaiwhai. We also got to explore a different traditional musical instruments including kōauau and pūtātara. We all got to take away a taonga with us - my group got their own kōauau to practise with.
